No Fuego:
Punk rock extraordinaires

Straight out of Baton Rouge, La., these guys have an incredible sound.

This one sent me back to my house party days. No Fuego, are punk rock extraordinaires - their reputation preceded their arrival at Rooster’s Saturday night. I’d read a very enthusiastic review a couple months back and had picked up a copy of their split LP at their label mate’s, the Bastard Suns, show. But nothing really compares to a live show though.

Walking across the packed parking lot at Rooster’s, it was hard not to smile when the unusual drone of bagpipes came flooding out of the open doors. Coupled with the sounds of loud, dirty guitars, it was obvious that No Fuego was doing something special inside.

Straight out of Baton Rouge, La., these guys have an incredible sound, the likes of which inspire newly minted fans all over the Southeast to dance and jump around indiscriminately. Signed to Unable Records, an independent label stationed out of Jacksonville, Fla., the group has put out a full length album, “Always Outnumbered,” and a few EP’s.

The group members, who have been playing together for about three years, say that they have bonded over their mutual love for whiskey and punk.

For those of you who’s Spanish is a bit rusty, ‘No Fuego’ translates to ‘no fire’. I’m sure that there is a pun there, something about their intensity and how hot their show was, but all are undeserving clichés. Simply said, they were a rowdy group of nice seeming fellas whose passion for alcohol- infused music has made them one of the best groups touring the Southeast today.

Unfortunately, No Fuego won’t be playing Auburn again soon, but they have numerous dates around the Southeast, so make sure to check out their MySpace for tunes and tour dates.

No Fuego & The Bastard Suns:
UNREAL! I saw these bands at Coasters in Fort Walton Beach and I was amazed. To be honest I realy liked No Fuego and spent most of the night talking to them while kinda ignoring the music of The Bastard Suns because I had been drinkin a bit too much. I actually set up a myspace page to get in touch with No Fuego and I then spent some time listening to The Bastard Suns. I'm still listening to their music and pushing it on everyone I know. Now I know how hard your job is. I'm an oldschool punk fan turned hip- hop, but was tired of the same old shit that rap music speaks about. Anyway guys, I'm thankful that I went to the show and got myself back into some real music.

The Bastard Suns & No Fuego:
If you haven't had the pleasure to listen to this CD or better yet see these two bands play live, drop everything and do it!! These two bands put on one of the best shows ever at my club and continue to do so everytime they hit the Florida Panhandle. The Bastard Suns are definitely one of my all time favorites. However they are in close company with No Fuego since they both rocked the house at Coasters!!!! Much love guys. Can't wait to have you back.

The Bastard Suns can put on one hell of a show. Saw them for NYE (New Year's Eve) and never had that much fun in one night.
