Violence in Ascension (VIA) was formed in January 2012 and is an American Metal band based out of New Castle, Delaware, consisting of 5 members. The members include John Haggerty (Front Vocals), Patrick Liberatore (Drums/Vocals), Anthony Mlynarczyk (Guitar/Vocals), Paul Wolff (Bass) and Jimmy Dean (Guitar). VIA’s sound is hard to classify into one particular style, therefore their music could better be described as being a mix of alternative metal with elements of thrash and groove metal, further processed using metalcore-style breakdowns to create a sound rich in heavy metal diversity. 

 

VIA has previously released an EP (Elements) in 2012 and an 8 song album in 2014 (From The Ashes); the latter while signed to the North Carolina-based metal label, Dark Harvest Records. The band also released a music video for their song "Hell's Gate", off of the From the Ashes album. VIA has toured extensively and has shared the stage with well known bands such as The Devil Wears Prada, Attack! Attack!, Texas in July and Chimaira.

 

VIA signed with Unable Records in December of 2015 to release a full length album in mid-2017. Recording for the new album began in January 2016 at Unable Music Group's 0x1 Sound Studio in New Jersey, and is now in the mixing and post-production stage.  Stay tuned for details!
