Raquel Castro

Pop - New York, NY

Roc Cartel is pleased to announce the signing of Raquel Castro, the first acquisition under a new deal with Unable Music Group. Castro, a native New Yorker, first captured our hearts as the lead in the movie “Jersey Girl,” then showcased her remarkable vocal and dance talents to the world on NBC's Emmy Award winning "The Voice."  As a finalist on Christina Aguilera’s squad, Raquel recalls her most memorable stage moment: "Performing 'Lady Marmalade' with Christina Aguilera and the team.”

Castro’s latest offering "Young & Dumb" is slated to impact radio and retail in September 2015.  Written by Raquel Castro and produced by Jon Kilmer with remixes by DJLW, this is a catchy and memorable tune she calls “Hip-Pop,” pop with a fun urban flavor.  “I want my music to be honest and relatable with a feel-good vibe.” said Raquel.

"The public has watched her grow up in movies and on TV.” said Ray De La Garza, President ofRoc Cartel.  "Raquel is the type of true young talent we have been searching for - it’s such an honor to have her on our label.   She is a creative inspiration who brings so much to everything she does, we are thrilled to have her join our family of artists."

Raquel is currently in pre-production for the music video to “Young & Dumb”, and is in studio with her production team completing her first full-length album, for release in 2016.  Raquel has appeared since her youth on several episodes of “Sesame Street” and “Nick Jr.,” ET’s “Kid’s Choice Awards,” “Law & Order SVU,” Broadway’s “White Christmas,” Ludacris/Mary J. Blige music video for“Runaway Love,” Rosie O’Donnell’s “America” (Lifetime) and “Winging It” (Canada).
