Strawberry Fields Cannabis Dispensary to Host Album Release Party on August 25th

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE August 8, 2017

COLORADO SPRINGS & PUEBLO, CO - Strawberry Fields, one of the area’s leading medicinal and recreational cannabis dispensaries, have teamed up with rock ‘n’ reggae band The Feathered Fish to host the first ever virtual in-store album release party. The event, which will be held from open to close on Friday August 25 at all Strawberry Fields locations, will feature discounts, special items, giveaways, and of course, the music of The Feathered Fish. Customers can expect to hear the groovy vibes of this amazing band playing throughout the stores, and will receive a special discount card for the band’s brand new album; among other just-for-the-day specials.

The Feathered Fish, who hail from Fredericksburg, Virginia, have been a force on the East Coast for several years. During this time, they’ve found success by fusing an organic blend of rock, southern rock and reggae into their original songs, coining the term Rock 'n' Reggae. They’ve drawn influence from, and have been compared to, bands like Sublime and the Red Hot Chili Peppers. The upcoming party at Strawberry Fields will be celebrating the release of The Feathered Fish’s debut full length album, Slug Life, which will be available globally in digital and CD formats.

Although the band now calls Virginia home, their ties to Colorado run deep; all one needs to do is listen to their song “Colorado Girl” to understand why. Lead singer Jeremy “Hank” Hankins has previously lived in Colorado and has visited the Strawberry Fields location in Colorado Springs. Additionally, the band has plans to tour through Colorado and the West in the future. The partnership between the band and Strawberry Fields, cemented by the work of Unable Music Group, is a natural fit. The band believes strongly in the benefits of cannabis and the responsible use of it, and is also a strong supporter of the local, independent businesses that make up the backbone of our communities. Strawberry Fields covers both of these areas, and by hosting the album release party, demonstrates that they are equally invested in the independent arts. For The Feathered Fish, the release party at Strawberry Fields comes on the heels of the formation of a partnership with Massachusetts-based natural foods company 88 Acres, further establishing their homegrown brand through a grassroots campaign.
